Goalkeeper Stryjek released by Wycombe

Goalkeeper Max Stryjek will leave Wycombe Wanderers this summer when his contract with the League One club expires.

The 27-year-old made 82 appearances for the Chairboys, 38 of them this season, prior to being loaned to Crewe Alexandra.

He is among six players released, but one of them, injured midfielder Kane Vincent-Young, will continue rehab at Adams Park over the summer.

Veteran Garath McCleary has been offered a new deal, along with defender Chris Forino and keeper Franco Ravizzoli.

“It’s a difficult time to make decisions to let players go and I’d like to thank them for all their hard work for this club during their time here," said head coach Matt Bloomfield.

"In particular, Max was our first-choice keeper for nearly two years and was unfortunate to lose his place after his red card in February, but I know he’s keen to explore new opportunities and we hope he can end this season on a high during his loan with Crewe in the play-offs, and find the move that’s right for him this summer."

The departure of full-back Joe Jacobson was announced some time ago, and the club have also released D’Mani Mellor, Nathan Shepperd and Jack Wakely.

"Joe had a wonderful send-off on Saturday for his 400th and final game and deserves all the plaudits he’s received because he will rightly go down in history as one of this club’s best ever players," said Bloomfield.

On Vincent-Young's situation, he added: "He looked a really promising player for us when he stepped on the pitch, so we’re looking forward to helping him get back to full fitness and seeing what opportunities open up for him at that point."
